Guidelines:

*Send up to 3 pages of previously unpublished poems as a docx to nodearmagazine@gmail.com (One poem max per page; If you have formatting needs that require a pdf, please send a pdf & a docx).

*We encourage poets for whom this will be your first publication to submit. Please let us know if this would be your first publication.

*Include your neighborhood in your cover letter.

*If you’re open to revision suggestions, let us know. Every once in a while, we love a poem and have a thought about how it could be stronger in the context of the issue.

Chapbook Submissions

ANALOG(UE): call for 2027 chapbook series

Open only to No, Dear poets (Issues 1-35) and their nominees.

What’s lost when physical signals are rendered as fixed and discrete values? For No, Dear’s 2027 chapbook series, a collection of debut works by NYC poets*, we’re looking for cycles of poems that engage with the analog(ue): the protean, the polyvocal, the perpetual, the tactile. Send us your homophones and homographs, your odd proportions and unlikely connections.

*We consider NYC poets as those who a) live in NYC, b) were born in NYC, or c) have strong connections to NYC. However, if you're a No, Dear poet nominating another poet for submission, that nominee must currently live in NYC.

Submissions open to No, Dear poets & their nominees, August 1-31

If you’re submitting your own chapbook manuscript, and have not yet published a book or chapbook, send 15-30 pages as a .docx or .pdf here. Brief, contextualizing cover letters are welcome.

If you are a poet who has appeared in No, Dear and would like to nominate another poet to submit a first chapbook manuscript, email nodearmagazine@gmail.com with the name of your nominee (and anything else you want to share about them) and send your nominee encouragement and the link to submit.

Series Editors: Elaina Friedman, Arden Levine & danilo machado

Poets will be notified if their manuscripts are selected in the fall.

The selected poet(s) will receive $200 + 10 copies of their chapbook.

We don’t charge reading fees, but your donations and chapbook purchases are welcome and essential to supporting this series!
